To really enjoy learning music, it is better to concentrate on learning accessible piano pieces. There is no need to rush in learning to play the piano. The goals should be achievable.
There is nothing shameful about playing simple piano pieces. If only virtuoso pieces were performed, we would never hear so much music.
I think the aim of most piano students is to be able to sit down and play for themselves, for friends, for relatives. To play to enjoy the inexplicable magic of music.
So it is very important that every student has a set of pieces that he or she can play without rehearsing them. That he or she enjoys playing at the level of reading from the sheet. Being able to take notes or chords and play them is very inspiring.
